I can't put the bear anything in the bottom of the stairs. Maybe anyone could help me?

The teddy bear actually goes right beside the foot of the stairs under the girls face statue. |

I can't get the bear to lock in either. Also had trouble as item 5 in the herbalist book didn't show, I used the directions from walkthru. |
