Have you ever been truly lost before? Out on some godforsaken trail in the middle of nowhere, miles from your car with only one water bottle and a granola bar in your backpack? Well I have... actually I was in this particularly unlucky situation just this weekend.
You see, as part of my 2013 resolutions, I've been pushing my husband and I to go explore Florida. We've been here for about 10 years now, and we've yet to really step foot out of our comfort zone and explore the nearby nature trails. Yet, when we go to Vermont, where my husband is from, that's all we do is hike!
So, our grand adventure was supposed to take us through the meandering scrub pines of Florida on an easy 5-mile loop back to the car... well, I've walked 5 miles before and after about 6 with still no sign of the car... I realized that... whatever trail we were on... was not in fact the trail we were supposed to be on... lucky for us, our phones worked and with a little GPS magic from Google, we were able to find our way back to the car... 6 miles later. Oops...
So needless to say I'm all about having a map with me the next time I decide we should go on another adventure.... What's wrong with me? I'd never play a game without knowing there was a walkthrough, so why would I go out in the middle of nowhere without a solid dependable map to help guide me???
Speaking of solid, dependable maps (did you see what I just did there?) have you checked out our Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's The Gold Bug Walkthrough yet? Because even with your trusty Newfoundland pal Arthur to sniff out clues, this game can have you wishing for a little GPS to help guide you.
Even if you've read the famous Poe tale, that's not going to help you out much. This game is pretty fast and loose with the whole premise, which in my opinion is a bit of a shame... what's the point of naming a game after a famous story if you're not going to be even the slightest bit faithful to it??? Why raise our hopes and then dash them cruelly on the ground with some odd interpretation? Sigh...
