Finals are only two weeks away and I have a lot of studying to do between now and then! At least I am finished with my research papers. If only Hidden Object games were a class, I'm sure I'd ace the test on that one!
This week's obsession: Spirits of Mystery: Amber Maiden. It seemed very intriguing and I couldn't resist getting the collectors edition. Like before, I wrote it so it will help those who purchase the upcoming non-collectors edition.
Here's what's so great about this game. Everything! Okay, I'll narrow it down some. First, the graphics are stunning, all hand drawn. There isn't a lot of ambiance in the game, but I didn't really find it necessary. I was so immersed in the atmosphere of the game, I didn't even notice anything around me. The story is captivating, I couldn't wait to see what happened next. The puzzles ranged from easy to moderately hard. The hidden object scenes, of which there are quite a few, were moderately hard. There is a lot of going back and forth, but it's pretty obvious where you need to go based on what's in your inventory. You have your very own feathered friend in this game, an owl! It was a nice touch to the storyline. What can I say, I thoroughly enjoyed this game, it wasn't too long and it wasn't too short. It's one of those games that just hits the mark. I highly recommend you purchase it when the non-collectors edition releases. This game gets a two thumbs up!
So what's next? Between all that studying and packing to head back to the ranch for the summer, I'll be working on... Dream Chronicles: The Book of Water. I was so excited to see this release I could hardly wait to get my hands on it. Dream Chronicles is by far one of my favorite series. Haven't played them? You should! We have provided a guide for every game in the series thus far here on the site. You can't start in the middle with these games, you need to play them in order. So what are you waiting for?! Until next time, happy gaming!
